The 3 ultrasound pictures above are of a young man of 27 yrs. age who presented with typical symptoms of right ureteric colic. Ultrasound scan shows hydronephrosis of the right kidney produced by a not -so- small right ureteric calculus. The right ureter is seen to be mildly dilated with a neat acoustic shadow beyond the ureteric stone.
